The definitive source of information and technical specifications for the APIs made available by members of the HSBC Group including HSBC UK, first direct and M&S Bank.
This website is for software developers. If you think you are on the wrong site, please visit the relevant public website.
Open Banking APIs are free to use and provide up-to-date information about the location and facilities of our
branches and ATMs, detailed product information for personal and business current accounts, lending to small to
medium enterprises and commercial credit cards.
You can use this data to build applications that make it easier for personal and business customers to compare what’s offered by different banks.
The data provided through the associated APIs relates to the UK only, and is prepared to the Open API, data format and security standards as maintained by the Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE).
The HSBC private APIs for account information service providers and payment initiation service providers
are now available. They allow personal customers and small businesses to share their data securely with
other banks and trusted third parties including making payments directly from their current accounts.
We’re excited to see how you’ll use this new chapter in banking history to create applications which improve everyday banking for all customers.
